Karnataka Showers Sops On Hero Motors To Pocket It’s 2 Wheeler Plant Project

A determined Karnataka Govt. has announced many sops to Hero Motors to entice it to set up it’s 6th plant in the state. Earlier, the motor company was actively considering Telangana for the location after it’s initial talks with Karnataka enter a deadlock, over setting up a plant in Dharwad. Then, Hero asked Karnataka for 500 acres of land as well as additional land for for units to house its 40 vendors, as we reported. Karnataka then was reluctant but now has accepted that along with a host of other tax incentives, making an irresistible offer to Hero. Jharkhand Assembly Welcomes Creation Of Telangana

Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Shashank Sekhar Bhokta today described the creation of Telangana state as a “pleasant event.” In his address to the House on the opening day of the monsoon session, Bhokta said after relentless struggle the people of the region got Telangana as the 29th state of the country. Congratulating Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on winning the assembly elections, Bhokta expressed hope that Telugu Desam and Telangana Rastriya Samiti governments would be able to meet the aspirations of the people in their respective states. The Speaker also extended good wishes to Biju Janata Dalleader and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for winning the elections and starting a “new innings.

Telangana Plans Massive Survey Of 84 Lakh Households In Single Day, On Aug 19th

Telangana is planning a mammoth survey, unseen of it’s kind, to cover 84 lakh households in a single day. After identifying high irregularities in spending of funds in name of welfare schemes, the government is gearing up for this exercise to weed out the fake and ineligible from the beneficiaries. About 4 lakh employees will conduct the Intensive Household Survey in a single day in all 10 districts of the state on a day that is yet to be announced. The dats is probably around 19th August. CM KCR disclosed this in a meeting with district collectors and top revenue officials and asked them to work out modalities for the survey. APSCHE Notification Illegal; Students Taken For A Ride

The APSCHE Chairman L. Venugopal Reddy’s tall claims that he is doing the duty bestowed on him by AP Reorganisation Act with regard to the ‘common admission process’ and the provision to ‘protect rights of all students in AP & Telangana’ are under a cloud. His aggression in bringing out the notification despite protests from Telangana government has made the status of the counseling notification illegal. It is not the APSCHE Act that enables engineering counseling and admissions but the Capitation fee act, outside the purview of the APSCHE chairman. The notification too needs approval of the Commissioner of Technical Education for Telangana State. But the notification was issued in the name of APSCHE. Lower Jurala Power House Flooded

In a blow to an already power-deficit Telangana, the Jurala hydro electric power house located in Atmakur of Mahbubnagar district of Telangana has been inundated due to dam flood water entering the power installations. While restoration works are on, the damage due to flooding could be huge and would be assessed after dewatering the plant. The two units flooded were of 40 MW each. The incident occurred late last night when the water was released from Jurala flooded the power units.
