Greater Hyderabad, with more than a million population, wore a deserted look today with normally busy and congested roads getting completely empty. Transport services have been stopped, offices, education institutes closed and cinema theatres, petrol stations shut down — the Telangana government ewent all out to make every one in the new state’s population is counted and their socio-economic status profiled on Tuesday. People have moved in large numbers to their villages to register, while Telangana migrants from out-of-state came home for the same purpose. State’s Welfare Schemes Dominate CM’s I-Day Speech At Golconda

CM KCR spoke at length about State’s welfare schemes at the I-Day fete at Golconda. Listing out his manifesto promises which are being implemented, the CM stated that Rs 482 crore is  released towards input subsidy for farmers who suffered losses for five years due to drought and cyclonic rains. He also reminded that his Govt. has given Rs 6.50 crore  to provide immediate succor to weavers and waive off power loom arrears. KCR Criticizes Propoganda Against Survey

Chief Minister KCR criticized the opposition parties for raising a hue and cry on the Intensive Household Survey to be conducted on Aug 19. Addressing the gathering at Golconda fort after unfurling Tricolor for the first time, the Chief Minister criticized that some bad elements are coming in the way of the survey aimed to implement welfare schemes avoiding misuse of funds. Telangana tourism department, in association with the departments of IT, ITES and industries, launched ‘Happening Hyderabad’ campaign with an aim to promote Hyderabad as a truly global and cosmopolitan city.  Telangana government today launched the annual campaign that will focus on year-round events in the city. KCR Flags Off 100 Innovas & 200 Bikes To Patrol Hyderabad

Telangana Chief Minister KCR on Thursday assured that the State Government would modernise the entire police force in the next few months. He also assured that the CCTV cameras would be installed across the city in the next three months for round-the-clock surveillance. Further, the traffic control and management will be improved on the lines of Mumbai-model, he added. Today, he flagged off over 100 Innovas and 200 bikes to the Hyderabad and Cyberabad police at Tank Bund here.
