Telangana IT & Industries Minister K Taraka Ramarao on Wednesday inaugurated a Retrofitting center on the premises of Tech Mahindra in Madhapur, Hyderabad. Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC), in technical cooperation with the Indo-German Environment Partnership Cell (IGEP), of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, has setup this Center and launched the Retro-fitting Programme for Information Technology Parks in Cyberabad Zone. Swedish furniture retailer Ikea AB is expected to open its first outlet in India at Hyderabad and the Telangana government has promised to fast-track all necessary clearances as the new state seeks to attract investments. After a meeting with top Ikea executives, chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was quoted as saying all necessary clearances will be given through a single window to expedite the process of opening the store in the city. Government to set up India’s biggest Incubator in the city soon to encourage ideas among students. Stating that software exports from Hyderabad increased 15 per cent last year touching Rs. 56,000 crore and the city will remain the growth engine. The IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao, rued the lack of entrepreneurial culture among students in the State and said the government would encourage students with ideas by setting up India’s biggest Incubator in the city within six months. Telangana Chief Minister KCR Tuesday expressed disappointment with the railway budget saying BJP-led government has done injustice to the newly-created state. KCR said not a single new project was announced for the state in the budget presented by D. V. Sadananda Goud. “Like the previous Congress governments, the BJP government has also done injustice to Telangana,” he said. The chief minister said there were no proposals for modernization of Secunderabad railway station and for making Kazipet a new railway division, a long pending demand. “Funds have not been allocated for even the projects for which surveys were already done,” KCR said in a statement.
