Telangana State’s Aug 15 Celebrations In Golconda Fort

Telangana State is gearing up for huge celebrations of August 15, it’s maiden Independence day celebrations, from Golkonda fort, the Deccan India’s largest fort. The CM directed the DGP and Chief Secretary to look at options around the Fort and start preparations. The regular practice of marking the day in Parade Grounds is given a skip this year as this is the 1st major national day celebrated by Telangana State. Already the cultural department is preparing several floats and tableaus reflecting the historical and cultural heritage of Telangana. Several programs are being designed to reflect Telangana culture and society on August 15th.

Telangana Renames AP State Haj Committee to Telangana State Haj Committee

The Telangana government issued an order on Saturday renaming the Andhra Pradesh State Haj Committee to Telangana State Haj Committee.The GO No 1, signed by Ahmad Nadeem, secretary, minority welfare department was issued exercising the powers conferred under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 (Act 6 of 2014) and the provisions U/s 17 (1) of the Haj Committee Act-2002 (Central Act No.35 of 2002), and in the name of governor of Telangana. It renamed the ‘Andhra Pradesh State Haj Committee’ to ‘Telangana State Haj Committee’.This year, the haj is scheduled for October 4. BJP Dharnas From Aug 11 To Protest For Immediate Farm Loan Waiver

BJP Telangana started getting into action mode for the Medak by-poll. The party called of a district dharna on August 11 in Medak where dozens of farmers committed suicide in recent months under the burden of loans. Hyderabad Exempted From Aug 19 Maha Survey?

Hyderabad and GHMC area has been exempted from the “Intensive Household Survey”, the maha survey that is scheduled to be conducted by the Telangana state government on August 19 across the state. Over 4 lakh state government staff members have been assigned for the maha survey duties on August 19. While this would be enough to cover the districts, they wont be enough to cover Hyderabad and GHMC area. So in GHMC area, a separate survey would be taken up on later date with required staff from all the departments. Venkaiah Naidu Meets KCR; Says Centre Won’t Interfere In Inter-States’ Affairs

Union urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu met with chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in two different meetings yesterday. He met the Telangana CM at the CM’s camp office at Begumpet. Earlier, he met AP CM at Lake View Guest House. Speculation is rife that the minister has met both the CMs with an agenda to bring some common ground between the CMs, who are divided on almost all counts. The union minister asked the CMs to prepare detailed reports on projects that require Central assistance. The Union minister handed over notes on the Central schemes being implemented in the two States and their current status, officials said.
