“Not ‘T’ In A Cup Anymore, This Is Telangana State”, Govt. Reminds Media

The Telangana government has urged the media not to use ‘T’ as an abbreviation for the Telangana state and advised it to use either the complete word or the State’s code TS. State’s Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma wrote a letter to editors of all TV channels and newspapers and bought their attention to the wide usage of “T” as a synonym for the Stater“This new state is often quoted in the media with an abbreviated prefix ‘T’, such as T-Govt., T-State, T-CM etc. In fact, the new state is formally mentioned as ‘State of Telangana’ or ‘Telangana State’ in the AP Reorganization Act.  You may kindly recall that the new vehicle numbering scheme also bears ‘TS’ as the abbreviation for Telangana State,” ...

MLA’s Followers Attack & Interrupt RDS Work, Again

The Karnataka government’s bid to raise the height of Rajolibanda Diversion Canal (RDS) has been interrupted on Tuesday , with a mob of 1500 from Kurnool district, followers of local Mantralayam MLA Balanagi Reddy, reaching the dam site in big numbers and trying to attack the former chairman of RDS Seetaram Reddy. The construction activity has been stopped for the time-being. The Karnataka government has decided to provide protection to workers at the site and work is expected to be resumed on Wednesday. An Yearly Award & Statue In Memory Of Dasaradhi

CM KCR declared that Telangana state government would immortalise the literary giant Dasaradhi Krishnamacharya with a statue and an annual award for literary contributions, with a cash prize of Rs 1,00,116. Speaking on the occasion of 89th birth anniversary of the writer-poet, the CM announced a university or educational institution in Telangana would be named after Dasaradhi. He also announced the government would provide a job to one in Dasaradhi’s family, which is in financial difficulties. Dasaradhi’s family is present on the occasion. CBI Probe Into Wakf Properties’ Irregularities Sought By AP Minority Commission

Andhra Pradesh State Minorities Commission (APSMC) has requested the Centre to order a CBI probe into irregularities in management of Wakf properties in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh territories, now part of Telangana & AP. Commission Chairman Abid Rasool Khan made this appeal in a meeting with Union Minister for Minority Affairs Najma Heptulla in Hyderabad. During Heptulla’s visit to the city, Khan briefed her on the activities of the Commission, its findings and also the surveys conducted by the panel. Sania Mirza Appointed Telangana’s Brand Ambassador

  The Telangana government on Tuesday appointed ace tennis player Sania Mirza as its brand ambassador. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao handed over the appointment letter to Sania along with a cheque of Rs.1 crore as grant for training and to meet other expenses to participate in the US Open and other tournaments. The grant was announced yesterday when Sania called on the chief minister. The appointment letter and cheque were presented at a meeting the chief minister had with industrialists on the industrial policy today.
