CM KCR declared that Telangana state government would immortalise the literary giant Dasaradhi Krishnamacharya with a statue and an annual award for literary contributions, with a cash prize of Rs 1,00,116. Speaking on the occasion of 89th birth anniversary of the writer-poet, the CM announced a university or educational institution in Telangana would be named after Dasaradhi. Andhra Pradesh State Minorities Commission (APSMC) has requested the Centre to order a CBI probe into irregularities in management of Wakf properties in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh territories, now part of Telangana & AP.   The Telangana government on Tuesday appointed ace tennis player Sania Mirza as its brand ambassador. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao handed over the appointment letter to Sania along with a cheque of Rs.1 crore as grant for training and to meet other expenses to participate in the US Open and other tournaments. The grant was announced yesterday when Sania called on the chief minister.
