‘Nizam Palaces Tour’ From Telangana Tourism

From July 26, a weekend half-day tour package named ‘Nizam palaces tour’ will be introduced by Telangana Tourism. The tour would be on Saturdays and Sundays. A press release from the toursim dept. said tourists would depart the Tourism Plaza, Begumpet, at 1 p.m., from Hotel Taj Krishna at 1.20 p.m., and from Hotel Golconda at 1.45 p.m., to reach Chowmahalla Palace at 2.30 p.m. After an hour there, they would be taken to Falaknuma Palace between 4 and 5.30 p.m. for a tour and hi-tea. A Father Dies Of Stroke, Hearing About Accident To The Bus Carrying His 2 Kids

Hearing about the bus accident within ten minutes of seeing off his 2 children to school, a father suffered a stroke and died in hospital on Thursday morning. The moment he heard about the death of his kids in the train-bus accident at Masaipet unmanned railway crossing in Medak, the father suffered a massive stroke. His two children Waheed and Razia were among the dead. The man breathed his last in the hospital. The school bus carrying some 38 children was hit by Nanded-Secunderabad Passenger at an unmanned railway crossing at Masaipet killing 20 children on the spot.

In 2011-12, Indian Railways recorded about 15,000 deaths. Experts say almost 70 percent of these took place at unmanned railway crossings. That is a staggering 10,000 lives and yet, incidents like the one today, in Medak, continue to happen. Today, dozens of schoolchildren died when their schoolbus was rammed into by a speeding train at an unmanned crossing. In India, there are about 13,530 such unmanned crossings. While the Indian Railways does not divulge the actual number of deaths at unmanned level crossings, a rough calculation can help us understand the gravity of the situation.
