Enthusiasm & Anticipation In Hyderabad IT With Newfound Focus On Innovation & Growth Clusters

The ICT (Information and Communications Technology) industry of the newly carved Telangana state put forth the industry growth recommendations to the state government. The recommendations are aimed at taking the industry to one million level in five years from the present base of 400,000 direct employees. These recommendations, presented at the industry round table with Information Technology minister KT Rama Rao on Friday, were stated to have arrived at think-tank meetings held over past two weeks collectively by all organizations representing different facets of the IT industry. Telangana Govt. To Set Up TASK To Make Engg. Students Readily Employable

Identifying the fact that most of the engineering graduates lack readily employable skills, the government of Telangana has decided to set up Telangana Academy of Skill and Knowledge (Task) to impart skills during their course period itself, with the help of IT companies. Under TASK, the IT companies would be requested to impart employable skills by selecting some students each as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR). The idea is to make the engineering graduates readily employable by the time they complete the four-year academic course. Incubation centres Minister for Information Technology K.T. KCR Reviews Situation As No Rainfall & AP’s PPA Cancellation Worsens Power Crisis

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, reviewed the power situation in the state at an official meeting on Thursday, instructed officials to draw up short-term and long-term plans to overcome the power crisis. He blamed the power crisis in the state on the Andhra Pradesh government, as well as drought. The power shortage in Telangana has worsened since the Andhra Pradesh government decided to cancel its Power Purchase Agreements with distribution companies. Chief Minister Rao elicited the opinion of officials on the existing power position and the inadequacy of power supply to the farmers and said the government will have to buy power from neighbouring states. Second Big Blow To AP On PPAs – SRLDC Tells AP To Back Off!

The Southern Regional Load Despatch Centre Tuesday directed the AP government to stop itself from drawing more power, from the grid, than it was using till June 2, till the Centre resolved the power purchase agreements (PPAs) row. Both Telangana and AP lodged complaints with the Centre over power sharing issue and the Centre directed the SRLDC to resolve the same. The SRLDC held a meeting with energy officials of both the States in Bangalore. The SRLDC decision is the second big blow to AP, which faced a similar rejection from the ERC. TRS Govt. ‘Banned’ TV9 & ABN As They Didn’t Support TRS In Elections – Kishan Reddy

Telangana BJP President Kishan Reddy wrote to the Governor that the Telangana Govt. ‘banned’ the two channels TV9 and ABN because they didn’t support the ruling TRS party in the run-up to the elections. Kishan Reddy accused the Govt, of being with a ‘anarchic, feudal and fascist’ mindset which he said is reminiscent of the feudal Telangana that people fought against during Hyderabad liberation movement.
