Jharkhand Assembly Welcomes Creation Of Telangana

Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Shashank Sekhar Bhokta today described the creation of Telangana state as a “pleasant event.” In his address to the House on the opening day of the monsoon session, Bhokta said after relentless struggle the people of the region got Telangana as the 29th state of the country. Congratulating Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on winning the assembly elections, Bhokta expressed hope that Telugu Desam and Telangana Rastriya Samiti governments would be able to meet the aspirations of the people in their respective states. The Speaker also extended good wishes to Biju Janata Dalleader and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for winning the elections and starting a “new innings.

Minister KTR Wants Metro Expanded To 250 KM, To Meet Needs Of Growing Population

While there is too much speculation in some sections of media over the ‘friction’ between L& T and Telangana Govt. over the very future of metro rail project, the state govt and Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) are already planning expansion of Metro! KTR, the minister of IT & Industries, has urged the HMR authorities to explore expansion the Metro Rail distance from the present plan of 72 km to 250 km. Telangana Plans Massive Survey Of 84 Lakh Households In Single Day, On Aug 19th

Telangana is planning a mammoth survey, unseen of it’s kind, to cover 84 lakh households in a single day. After identifying high irregularities in spending of funds in name of welfare schemes, the government is gearing up for this exercise to weed out the fake and ineligible from the beneficiaries. About 4 lakh employees will conduct the Intensive Household Survey in a single day in all 10 districts of the state on a day that is yet to be announced. The dats is probably around 19th August. CM KCR Sanctions Rs 8.76 Cr To Survey For His Twin Dream Projects

Massive Pipes In Lift Irrigation Projects

After a 7 year delay, Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project made it’s 1st step towards survey, thanks to Telangana’s own government now. While on paper, Rs 7 Cr was sanctioned for surveying for this project in erstwhile AP, nothing happened then. The Telangana government has released Rs 8.76 crore for conducting surveys and preparing detailed project reports (DPRs) for the Palamuru lift irrigation and Jurala-Pakala projects. The two are chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s dream projects for which sufficient funds will be allocated in the first budget to be presented in the state legislative Assembly in September. Telangana Officials To Meet Finance Commission To Discuss State’s Needs

Telangana Principal Secretary, Finance, V Nagi Reddy and the advisor to the Government GR Reddy today are visiting Delhi to meet the 14th Finance Commission. They would be discussing the criteria and modalities the commission would follow in allocating funds to AP and Telangana in view of bifurcation. the erstwhile AP got Rs 27,000 Cr. On a proportional basis, Telangana may get Rs 13,000 Cr. The TRS has in the past requested the commission to take population as a criterion. The delegation may discuss the government’s priorities in the various welfare and development schemes. Depending on the feedback, the Government would set out on budget preparation, officials say.
