Even as a clear attempt is made to take control over Hyderabad through the Governor’s position by the powerful Seemandhra lobby, there seems to be attempts to change the present Governor too, to bring in a ‘good’ one, by the ruling NDA. Naidu Welcomes Hyderabad Circular But Wants Even More Power To Governor!

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu wrote to the Centre welcoming the circular sent by the Union home ministry. The full text of the circular can be seen here. However, he is not completely satisfied and wanted more power to the Governor! In the letter, he urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to accord more powers to the governor so that he can appoint the police commissioner of the city. “The circular is in the spirit of Section 8 of the AP State Reorganisation Act 2014, but the governor needs more powers.
