Rajnath Singh Surprised At His Own Ministry’s Circular Over Hyderabad!

Rajnath-SinghWell, if you were surprised at the circular issued by Union Home Ministry (MHA) to Telangana State regarding awarding all powers of law & order over Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy to the Governor, you are not alone. You have company in the form of Rajnath Singh, the minister himself under whose name the circular was issued. When TRS MPs met the Minister in Delhi and complained about the circular’s contents, the Minister was puzzled! He is now looking at the file and seem to be asking questions to the officials in his ministry on the motives behind the circular. We know that a strong lobby works in MHA for certain AP bigwigs and the circular seems to be their handiwork. The circular came 2 days after Naidu’s request for the same! They seem to be emboldened by their lobby which holds the reins of power in Delhi and AP to issue the ridiculous circular, which every court on the face of earth will trash in the dustbin. Here is the full text of the controversial circular.

Earlier, TRS MPs met Singh at Parliament House to submit a representation against the proposed amendments to the state business transaction rules, circulated on June 4 to Telangana government for its comments. The rules, which take cover under Section 8 of the AP State Reorganisation Act propose setting up of a police service board, comprising Telangana DGP and commissioners of police of Hyderabad and Cyberabad, to handle transfer and postings of police officers, including DCPs, ACPs and SHOs. However, what has shocked people is the proposed stipulation that governor shall have the power to approve and suggest changes in the panel of names to be suggested by the police service board “as he deems fit, as per his best judgment”. As if Telangana and Hyderabad is his fief!

“Even he was surprised at the rule as transfer and postings in state police in not a central subject, and has promised to look into our grievance,” TRS MP Kavitha said about the meeting with Rajnath Singh.

While AP CM Naidu welcomed the circular soon after it was issued and demanded even more power to Governor, the lobby’s plans to usurp power over Hyderabad doesn’t seem to be making any headway now, going by Rajnath Singh’s reaction.
