Govt. Sets Up Committee To Implement Crop Loan Waiver

The Telangana government started the process to waive off farm loans up to 1 lakh for each farmer, as per this week’s cabinet decision. The Govt, set up a  inter-departmental committee to decide the modalities and monitor implementation. Chief secretary Rajiv Sharma issued orders to this effect on Saturday. The loan waiver is supposedly costing the Govt. Rs 19000 Cr. The committee will be headed by principal secretary (finance) V Nagi Reddy. The other members of the committee include principal secretaries BR Meena (revenue), P Rama Krishna Rao (finance) and Poonam Malakondaiah (agriculture), Registrar of Cooperative Societies, SLBC convenor, APCOB MD, a representative of RRB and financal advisor. Agriculture commissioner B Janardhan Reddy will be the convenor of the committee.

Centre To Set Up AIIMS In Telangana

Centre Plans AIIMS Like Institute In Every State, Except In ‘Special’ Telangana!!

Centre reportedly conveyed to the Telangana State Government that it is now considering setting up AIIMS in Telangana too. Earlier, Telangana Talkies has published how Centre has written to every state with a proposal to set up AIIMS but ignored Telangana. The Centre ignored detailed representations from Telangana MPs on the poor state of medical facilities and seats in Telangana while declaring it’s plan to set up an AIIMS in every state in India, with the exception of the smaller north-eastern states. This provoked Chevella MP Konda Vishveshwar Reddy to even ask the health minister Dr. Harshavardhan in Lok Sabha if Telangana is a special state especially qualified or disqualified to merit such treatment. Godavari Pushkaralu is synonymous with a visit to Rajahmundry. That is till now. In Telangana, now the sacred bath (Pushkara Snanam) would be in-state, in Telangana path of Godavari. Telangana Chief Minister KCR is putting his best foot forward, planning the event an year in advance. The ‘Pushkaralu’ are due next July in 2015. Telangana To Host A Mega Industrialists’ Summit On July 22nd

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will host a mega industrialists’ meet on July 22 in the city to devise a ‘zero corruption industrial policy’ for Telangana state. Invitations have been sent to nearly 50 industry bodies and industrialists across India for the meeting, though the Telangana government is yet to receive confirmation from top corporate houses on their participation. Invitations were sent to national industry bodies like FICCI, CII, Assocham, and Nasscom etc., besides heads of top corporate firms like Tata, Reliance, Godrej, Micr-osoft India, Infosys, Wipro, Mahindra, ITC and Hero MotoCorp. President’s Nod To Polavaram Bill

President Pranab Mukherjee has given his assent to a bill that facilitates handing over of over 530 villages spread across seven mandals in Telangana to the residual state of Andhra Pradesh for setting up of the multi-purpose Polavaram irrigation project.The President has given his consent to Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill yesterday making it an Act, official sources said.The Bill was passed by Parliament last week.The project involves relocation of about 50,000 families especially in Khammam in Telangana, besides 2,000 families in Odisha and Chhattisgarh.Polavaram project has been accorded national project status by the Centre.
