Startup Weekend Concludes At ISB Hyderabad

The 5th edition of Startup Weekend Hyderabad held from July 18 at Indian School of Business ended yeaterday. The event aims at creating and nurturing a startup ecosystem in host cities. The event witnessed more than 130 participants and finalists interacted with mentors, targeted and acquired customers and tried to build a viable product. On Sunday, all the teams made their final presentations to a team of entrepreneurs who selected the top three ideas. Some of the notable ideas include Cloud Boost (collection of smart developer tools for next-gen platforms like parse, firebase), Stamp (single digital wallet for storing loyalty cards), LearnForSure (enhance retention and accessibility for delivering educational content to end-users from high schoolers to MBAs.) and CarNama (online portal for buying car accessories).“We ...

Start-Up Festival In Hyderabad Next Month, Says IT Minister KTR

Hyderabad will be hosting another two-day start-up festival in August. Right now, the city is hosting startup weekend at ISB. Next month’s event would bring together entrepreneurs and investors on a common platform, said K. T. Rama Rao, the IT and panchayat minister who is gunning to enhance the technology ecosystem in the city by conducting tech events on a continual basis. “We want to encourage start-up firms by creating one of the best enabling ecosystems in the country. As part of this, we are going to organise a two-day start-up festival on August 30-31 in partnership with Hysea, TiE Hyderabad and Nasscom at ISB,” said the minister, addressing 200 startup entrepreneurs who participated in a cycle rally organised by the Atlanta Foundation on Saturday. 2 More Bodies Recovered From River Beas; One Missing 42 Days After The Tragedy

Two more bodies have been recovered from river Beas. The deceased students whose bodies have been recovered have been identified as Dasari Srinidhi, daughter of Raja Reddy, resident of Karim Nagar in  Hyderabad and Kasarla Reddy, daughter of Krishna Reddy of Bachupally area in Hyderabad. The recovered bodies belong to the group of 24 engineering students of Hyderabad-based VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, who were washed away in the Beas at Thalout in Mandi district after sudden release of water from the Larji dam on June 8. Telangana Government is examining action to be taken in the land misuse case of major movie studios Annapurna & Padmalaya in Hyderabad. The state chief commissioner of land administration S.K. Sinha is quoted to have said, “There are violations in the lands given to these studios. Some are being misused while some have been sold.”. In February last, Hyderabad District Collector Mukesh Kumar Meena notified the department of land administration a series of violations in land allotments with regard to the purposes they are being used for. Here Is The Finalized Telangana Police Logo

After 2 months of due process resulting in design of 3 different logos, the logo for Telangana police department has been finalized. A badge too is designed for police uniforms. CM KCR chose one among the 3, which is designed by noted artist Aley Lakshman. As widely known, Mr Lakshman designed the Telangana state government’s logo too. The logo has the 3 words duty, honour and compassion as motto. A team led by DGP Anurag Sharma was overseeing the logo preparation for 2 months and this logo could be notified officially in few days after which it would be adapted by the police department in their offices, vehicles, stationery and importantly, their uniforms.
