Telangana Scraps Fee Reimbursement & Introduces FAST Scholarships

Chief Minister KCR announced a complete overhaul of Government provided assistance to students so far being done through fee reimbursements. He announced that the cabinet  decided to scrap fee reimbursement and introduce a new scheme named ‘Financial Assistance for Students of Telangana (FAST)’. The decision came after a month of the all party meet held to discuss the issue. The all party meet too decided the program needs corrections to provide help to the right deserving students. Chief Minister KCR came down heavily on land grabbers in the press conference on Wednesday. He said some in media and private groups are trying to justify encroachments of Govt lands by comparing those with Microsoft and Infosys which are built on what were once wakf lands. He said these escape routes wont work and pointed to the fact that while those companies were allotted lands by Governments, companies like Lanco and MR Properties cheated Government by using lands allotted to them for purposes other than what they were meant for. Telangana Cabinet’s 43 Critical Decisions; FAST Scheme Replaces Fee Reimbursement

CM KCR’s Spectacular Presentation Of Telangana’s Issues & Solutions In The Historic 1st Session

CM KCR and his cabinet decided upon 43 important decisions today. Among the important decisions, the Government reiterated it will issue loan waiver as per poll promise and that would benefit 39,07,409 farmers. The Govt scrapped Fee Reimbursement & Introduced a new scheme called Financial Assistance to Students of Telangana (FAST) in it’s place. FAST issues scholarship based on income and nativity criteria to the students. A committee will shortly issue all guidelines in this regard. For nativity, 1956 is considered cutoff for families looking to benefit under the scheme.
