BJP Dharnas From Aug 11 To Protest For Immediate Farm Loan Waiver

bjpBJP Telangana started getting into action mode for the Medak by-poll. The party called of a district dharna on August 11 in Medak where dozens of farmers committed suicide in recent months under the burden of loans.

Alleging that the TRS government dealt a severe blow to the farmers and is responsible for death of over 100 farmers with it’s inaction, by not fulfilling its promise of ensuring eight hour power supply, the BJP leaders demanded that the chief minister provide eight hour quality power supply as promised in TRS manifesto. They also demanded that the government initiate drought relief measures immediately as the State was reeling under dry spell.

They demanded that the State government waive crop loans immediately and provide 8 hour uninterrupted free power supply to farmers. Telangana BJP Kisan Morcha on Saturday decided to stage dharnas at district Collectorates and Superintending Engineers’ offices starting 11 August.

The BJP Kisan Morcha has decided to stage dharnas in districts as per this schedule -

  • Medak - August 11,
  • Mahbubnagar - August 12,
  • Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Adilabad and Nizamabad districts – August 13,
  • Khammam, Ranga Reddy and Warangal districts - August 14.

The State and Central BJP leaders would participate in the dharnas. BJP Kisan Morcha State executive met under the chairmanship of Goli Madhusudhan Reddy. Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatraya, BJP floor leader Dr K. Lakshman, BJP Kisan Morcha national general secretary P. Sugunakar Rao attended the meeting were present and decision has been made to start attacking the TRS Government.

The BJP Kisan Morcha leaders alleged that the KCR government has miserably failed to waive the crop loans of farmers even after the chief minister assuming office and kharif season began two months ago.  Alleging that some 100 despondent farmers committed suicide under unbearable debt burden, they demanded that the government come to the rescue of the kin of the deceased farmers by paying an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh for each family.
