Mahindra and Mahindra chief executive Pravin Shah on Saturday met Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at the Secretariat and offered to set up a manufacturing plant in Zaheerabad for Dhruv tractors with an investment of over Rs 300 crore. Mahindra has been running Asia’s largest tractor manufacturing plant in Zaheerabad. The CM assured him that the government will provide all the facilities for setting up the plant at the earliest. CM also urged Mr Shah to come out with proposals to make Hyderabad, a pollution-free city, by manufacturing battery-run vehicles along the lines of those in developed countries. Chief Minister KCR received a grand welcome in Armoor  on Thursday and a large number of schoolchildren waited to welcome him with flowers and flags. However, the CM wasn’t amused. The chief  minister reached Armoor 2 hours later than the scheduled time and that forced the students in Nizamabad and Armoor towns  to wait in the sun. Addressing a public meeting there, KCR said forcing students to wait for hours is in bad taste and ordered officials across Telangana to discontinue the practice of bringning school kids to welcome VIPs.
