Ministers Blame CBN & Venkaiah For Centre’s Plans On Hyd Law & Order

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has accused AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu for conspiracy against Telangana government and making the Centre try to hand over Hyderabad law and order powers to Governor.

“The authority for Governor on the city is a part of the dirty politics being played by Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu.” said Harish Rao. He reminded that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi once blamed the then Congress-UPA government for usurping the rights of the States, while he was CM and wondered why is he committing the same mistake now. He also criticized State BJP president G. Kishan Reddy for toeing Centre’s line and criticizing Chief Minister and the Telangana Govt. every day, as a routine.

IT Minister K T Ramarao and party MP Balka Suman said that the Centre’s directive to Telangana government to hand over law and order to the Governor in the Greater Hyderabad limits is no less than aggression over State’s democratically elected government, to gain control over it.

The Minister and MP alleged that the AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union minister Venkaiah Naidu, who are not able to digest the welfare programs being implemented by the KCR government, were behind the actions of the Union government. Though there was no discrimination against anyone in Hyderabad even since TRS formed Govt, the Union government’s is attempting to hand over law and order to the Governor, they added.

The TRS leaders said the Narendra Modi government should remember that its erratic actions would lead to hiatus between the Union and State governments. KTR also warned that the Telangana government is ready to take on the Centre with the support of other State governments.

Meanwhile, Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumatha Rao today condemned the Centre’s directive to Telangana Government to hand over special powers on Hyderabad to Governor ESL Narasimhan.

VH condemned the hostile attitude of the Centre for taking such unilateral decision. “If the Governor was handed over special powers, what will the Chief Minister and Home Minister of the State will do?, he asked.  He expressed displeasure over the Centre’s attempts to usurp powers of the Chief Minister and the Home Minister. He said the Chief Minister and the Governor would have different policies on law & order and it would lead to a deadlock everyday.

As per the AP Reorg Act, the Governor is supposed to intervene in the State affairs when law and order is out of control and he can use his powers when settlers of other States are under threat, he added. He also alleged that the Centre is belittling Telangana State which got statehood only after six decades of persistent struggles and movements and sacrifices, by categorizing it with special rules like this.
