The demand for a separate High Court for Telangana state is now echoing the Delhi durbar. Telangana advocates, along with TRS and BJP leaders from Telangana, met Union law minister Ravi Shanker Prasad in New Delhi and submitted a memorandum urging the Centre to take immediate steps to establish separate High Courts for Telangana Andhra Pradesh. Senior BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya, TRS MP B. The Kamalnathan Committee constituted for distribution of employees between AP and TS has been overwhelmed with  objections from Telangana employees over giving “options” to employees to choose the state of their choice on  grounds of spouses and health issues. The result is that the earlier date of Aug 14th for it’s meeting is now moved to August 23, to buy time to brainstorm over the huge number of objections. The Committee had given 10 days to file objections on draft guidelines issued by it for distribution of employees, which ended on August 5. The Army failed to provide maps buttressing its claim over the 51 acres of land the State Govt is planning to use for the I-day fete at Golconda. They reportedly said the maps are deposited in a court on account of a civil dispute. They hence agreed to facilitate smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations by the State government at Golconda. The Election Commission has started the process of delimitation of constituencies in Telagnana and AP. As per the Andhra Pradesh state Bifurcation Act, the Central Election Commission (CEC) has taken up the delimitation process in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.  The CEC has asked the states for their population details for each constituency – like total population, SC and ST population and average population. State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bhanwarlal said the Election Commission would constitute delimitation commissions for both the states, within a month after getting this information. The Delimitation committees would be headed by a retired Supreme Court judge. Five MLAs and five MPs from respective states would be nominated to the committees.
