S Narsing Rao Formally Appointed; Takes Charge As Principal Secretary For KCR

Former Chariman & Managing Director, Coal India Limited S Narsing Rao is formally posted as Principal Secretary to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao on Thursday, as per GO 96. The centre has accepted the resignation of S Narsing Rao from the post of Chairman and Managing Director of Coal India (CIL) on June 24. Rao took over as Chairman of CIL, in April, 2012. KCR Reviews Situation As No Rainfall & AP’s PPA Cancellation Worsens Power Crisis

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, reviewed the power situation in the state at an official meeting on Thursday, instructed officials to draw up short-term and long-term plans to overcome the power crisis. He blamed the power crisis in the state on the Andhra Pradesh government, as well as drought. The power shortage in Telangana has worsened since the Andhra Pradesh government decided to cancel its Power Purchase Agreements with distribution companies. Chief Minister Rao elicited the opinion of officials on the existing power position and the inadequacy of power supply to the farmers and said the government will have to buy power from neighbouring states. In continuation of the resolution to form a separate chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA)  for Telangana made by them on Sunday, senior doctors from Telangana on Wednesday maintained that elections for office bearers of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Telangana State will be held in Hyderabad in the next two months. Chandrababu Deliberately Provoking Telangana On Power, Water & Fee Reimbursement Issues

Beas Tragedy: HP Court Orders Electricty Board & VNR College To Pay 5 Lakh As Interim Relief

Himachal Pradesh High Court ordered both the VNR Vigana Jyothi College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad and HP State Electricity Board  hand interim relief of Rs 5 lakh to each of the parents of 24 engineering students who lost there lives in the accident on 8 June. The college and the state electricity board had been directed to deposit 50% each of the interim relief with the court by 9 July. The court would directly monitor the investigation of FIR registering the accident and appointed senior advocate Dilip Sharma as Amicus Curiae to assist the court in the case.
