7 Heritage Corridors To Be Spruced Up In Hyderabad

The city will have seven permanent heritage corridors built before the Metropolis World Congress Meet, which is scheduled for October. The 4 approach roads to the Charminar, the Musi waterfront, as well as roads around the Golconda and Qutub Shahi Tombs will form the 7 corridors. They are aimed at enhancing the look of the heritage structures and displaying the rich Hyderabadi culture. A special engineering wing will be established for urban biodiversity. Date palm trees will be planted along the heritage corridors along with leafy creepers on existing walls to improve the aesthetics of the areas to be developed as corridors. The corporation plans to spend Rs 50 crore on this beautification. GHMC has 20 nurseries under its jurisdiction and is planning to establish 7 more nurseries in the current year.

Azim Premji Congratulates CM KCR On Achieving Telangana

Wipro boss Azim Premji met CM KCR and  congratulated him for achieving Telangana state and forming the first government. Premji recollected about Wipro and it’s association with Hyderabad in his meeting with the CM and elaborated on his company’s expansion plans in Telangana. The CM on his part, said that the Telangana government would bring out a transparent and corruption-free single-window system soon, to give all requisite permissions to new projects. Hyderabad would also be made an infotech hub and a 4G Wi-Fi city, the CM added. Harish Rao Hands Over Exgratia To Victims Of Train Accident

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today handed over exgratia of Rs 5 lakh, Rs 2 lakh on behalf of the State Government and Railways to the 14 families of those deceased in Masaipet Rail accident.  Along with Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy he met the victims’ families and consoled them. He also given them an assurance for insurance amount of Rs 1 lakh. Govt Notifies Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC)

State Government’s Energy Department has issued GO 3 for constituting the Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission. The Commission may fully become functional in 3 months after due process. The GO is issued exercising powers conferred under sub-section (1) of Section 82 of the  Electricity Act, 2003 along with section 92 of A.P. Reorganisation Act, 2014. With the approval of the Governor of Telangana State, the GO laid down procedures to constitute a State Electricity Regulatory Commission for the State of Telangana to be called as “Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission” (TSERC), with one Chairman and two members.
