Regular Driver Of Ill-fated Medak School Bus Wishes He Was At Work That Day

Kummuri Balayya was the regular driver of the ill-fated AP 23X 5349 school bus of Kakatiya Techno School and he drove that bus for 4 months before he took a day off on July 24. That day he his uncle passed away in wee hours of morning forcing Balayya to arrange his friend Bikshapathi to do his duty for a day, with the permission of school management. Telangana Education Minister G Jagadeeswara Reddy is unperturbed with Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE)’s political game in partnership with AP Government to pressurize Telangana State to drop it’s reforms in fee reimbursement policy. When asked about APSCHE’s move to release notification for EAMCET counseling without Telangana Government’s approval, Telangana state has nothing to do and nothing to lose with the decision of the APSCHE. He shot back “We are no way concerned with what the AP government does with regard to admissions to professional colleges. If they want to go ahead with counselling, let them. Medak Accident Toll Rises To 18; 3 More In Critical Condition

11 year old Vaishnavi who was critically injured in the Medak train-bus collision on July 24, succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday. 18 children passed away in the incident. Two children, Prashanth and Varun are in very critical condition, while another kid Sharath, who suffured a major lung injury, is in the critical ward under close observation. All kids are aged around 7. Six children Nabira Fathima (9), Darshan Goud (6), Harish (7), Sirisha (8), Sravani (6), and Nithusha (7) have improved and have been shifted to the general ward. 7 more kids have been discharged after recovering. Despite being discharged, some families are reluctant to go back to their villages due to lack of proper medical facilities and transportation.

Telangana Grappling For Solutions To It’s Power Woes

Telangana is still trying to grapple with the power issues it is in. The Energy secretary SK Joshi’s trip to Chhattisgarh, which was to happen last week, got postponed and may happen today. He may negotiate for an MoU for purchase of 1500 MW of power, higher than the initial plan of purchasing 1000 MW. The Govt notified creation of TS Electricity Regulatory Authority 2 days ago to fasten the MoU process as the common APERC, serving both AP and Telangana, reportedly cited existing procedures that wont allow for a direct inter-state agreement without competitive bidding. After Bonalu, Bathukamma, Ramzan, It’s Now Christmas!

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao promised to a delegation of Christian leaders that the Government would host a Christmas party  this December on the lines of Iftar party it hosted for Ramzan. Soon after taking over power, the devout CM declared Bonalu and Bathukamma as State festivals. Ample arrangemenets were made for Ramzan and now the same is promised to Christmas. The CM also promised to look into several issues the Christian leaders raised, like over construction of churches and availability of christian graveyards. The CM said same guidelines would be followed for construction of religious places, whether temples, mosques or churches.
