Telangana Education Minister G Jagadeeswara Reddy is unperturbed with Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE)’s political game in partnership with AP Government to pressurize Telangana State to drop it’s reforms in fee reimbursement policy.
When asked about APSCHE’s move to release notification for EAMCET counseling without Telangana Government’s approval, Telangana state has nothing to do and nothing to lose with the decision of the APSCHE. He shot back “We are no way concerned with what the AP government does with regard to admissions to professional colleges. If they want to go ahead with counselling, let them. For us, AP is like Maharashtra and Karnataka. We will not interfere in AP affairs,”.
It looks like the TS Govt thinks APSCHE’s actions are a blessing in disguise and they can get rid of this ‘common admission process’ sooner than the 10 year limit imposed by the AP Reorganization act. APSCHE’s unilateral actions against TS Govt prove these so-called ‘independent bodies’ will work as per the interests of AP and Telangana can argue the same very soon to get rid of APSCHE and stress for a TSSCHE to do it’s own admissions! In that case, Andhra students will lose big time by losing access to reputed colleges in and around Hyderabad.
