New Police Station & 24*7 Women Help Line To Come Up Near Hitech City

Cyberabad SecuritySociety for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) executive committee meeting was held at Mini-Conference room in Cyberabad Police Commissionerate under the chairmanship of Cyberabad Police Commissioner and Honorary Chairman of SCSC, C.V. Anand from 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday. The meeting was attended by about 50 representatives of IT companies besides top officials of the Cyberabad police.

Joint Police Commissioner Y. Gangadhar, IPS, DCP Traffic Avinash Mohanty, IPS, DCP Cyberabad Kanthi Rana Tata, IPS, and some 50 representatives of medium and large scale IT companies in Cyberabad and Cyberabad police officials.

A new police station and a dedicated women cell for the IT corridor were some of the resolutions passed at the Executive Committee Meeting.

It was also conveyed by the members that TCS has come forward to sponsor the women cell building. Some of the other resolutions included forming a separate women forum before September which would be represented by three IT women employees. A new working committee was also decided to be constituted to work on various development activities in the area.

Cyberabad Commissioner C.V. Anand, who is also the honorary chairman of the council, informed that a 24/7 call centre for women will be set up in Madhapur and Gachibowli in such a way that new patrolling vehicles will be able to respond to incidents in IT corridor within 10 minutes. He in detail spoke about the achievements of the Council in 2013-14.  He said activities of the Council would be expanded to other areas outside Madhapur and Gachibowli like Aadibhatla. The CP said a police station for women, including 24 hour call center would be set up in Madhapur and Gachibowli areas. He said new patrolling vehicles will be put into action to respond to incidents in 10 minutes within the IT corridor as well as Cyberabad area from August 15.

He also explained about the Public Safety Act and rules and urged the software companies to install CCTV cameras in and outside their premises. He appreciated the activities of the council and asked for more contributions from members in development plans of the council. He also explained about various activities the police took up during the year in the IT sector like staring RTC bus services and five-pronged strategy for women’s security.

Srinivas Prasad, secretary of the council, said that they now own 45 km of Optic Fiber Cable network laid in Madhapur and Gachibowli zones and 47 CCTV cameras with no debt pending on the council. He also thanked the Cyberabad police officials for helping them increase the membership of the council in the last one year.
