IMA Telangana Ad-Hoc Committee Formed; IMA AP Unit Furious!

Fissures have started to appear in the State unit of Indian Medical Association (IMA), the representative voluntary organisation of doctors. The body was split wide open when on Sunday, several senior doctors hailing from Telangana held a meeting at the IMA building in Koti and formed an adhoc committee that will formalise the future course of action and formation of IMA, Telangana. sWhile this being the case, the office-bearers of the State-unit (parent body) of IMA on Sunday maintained that the meeting was ‘illegal’ and Central IMA observed elections to form separate bodies of IMA Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are scheduled to be held on July 12 in Vijayawada. Bhadrachalam ITDA’s Unanimous Resolution Demands Revoking Polavaram Ordinance

If AP Stops Power Supply, Telangana To Turn To 3 Other States & NTPC

Telangana State is preparing for the worst case scenario now as AP started using all power it is producing without sharing it with Telangana as per the provisions of AP ReOrganization Act. AP even stopped sharing information with central power utilities about the power it produces, on a daily basis. The reason the utilities are told by the AP Officials is that they have withdrawn from PPAs notwithstanding the objections from Union Energy Ministry and the Telangana Government. AP Using All It’s Power Produced And Putting Southern Grid At Risk Of Collapse!

The Southern Grid is facing grave risk due to the adamant behaviour of the AP Generation Corporation. “Andhra Pradesh is playing an extremely dangerous game with the Southern Region Load Despatch Centre, Bangalore. Given its behaviour today, the grid can collapse if AP overdraws,” a top official source told a national daily.  Noticing the seriousness of the situation, Telangana chief minister Mr K Chandrashekar Rao rushed power secretary Mr Suresh Chanda to Delhi this evening. The latter also spoke to the secretary, Union ministry of power and NTPC authorities. Mr Rao asked officials to immediately talk with other states to purchase power if the situation demands. KCR Sends Top Officer To Delhi To Troubleshoot Power Problems

The government of Telangana has intensified its efforts to counter the move by the Andhra Pradesh government to cancel power purchase agreements (PPAs) after news broke that AP is aggressively pursuing the matter despite Centre’s earlier rejection . Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao Friday asked the officials to collect all the relevant material and submit the same to the union government. He has asked Principal Secretary, Energy, Suresh Chandra to stay in New Delhi for few days for discussion with union government officials.
