800+ Andhras In Telangana Govt Want To Switch To AP Govt, To Retire At 60!

Chandrababu Naidu’s decision to increase the retirement age of Andhra employees to 60 had an unintended consequence. Many Andhra origin employees who were hitherto refusing to admit their nativity and who even declared themselves ‘local’ in service books all of a sudden decided and declared they are not locals but Andhras and petitioned their HoDs to immediately transfer them to the services of AP Government. The HoDs in turn reported to the Telangana Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma that more than 800 such employees want to be immediately relocated to Andhra. Telangana’s Share In Total Power Falls From 54% To 46%

The Telangana Electricity Employees’ Joint Action Committee (TEEJAC) has decried the shifting of solar power generation proposed in Telangana by the National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC), to Andhra Pradesh post bifurcation. The NHPC had proposed to set up solar projects of 400-MW capacity in the united AP, of which about 250 MW worth projects were for Telangana region. Post bifurcation, the NHPC has changed its mind and decided to transfer entire capacity to AP, which would result in 250 MW loss of solar power for Telangana, the JAC alleged. 200 Companies Wait As Centre Delays Issuing State Registration Code To Telangana

Nearly 200 applications for setting up different industries in Telangana are gathering dust with the industries department, thanks to the apathy of the Centre in allotting ‘state registration code’ for nearly a month. Industry proposals worth below Rs 10 crore have to be registered at the district level, and those over Rs 10 crore at the state level. The registration code number of the undivided state was allotted to Andhra Pradesh. With no registration code for Telangana, the industries department has halted the registration process leaving entrepreneurs in the lurch. The Centre allots a unique registration code to each state. Bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh has forced public broadcaster Doordarshan to start separate transmission of the channel for residuary AP.The DD Saptagiri channel running from Hyderabad will be renamed to DD Telangana some other name recommended by Telangana Govt. and the DD Saptagiri name will be retained for residual Andhra Pradesh. With Hyderabad becoming a part of the newly formed Telengana, regular transmission of two hours a day, 5 pm to 7 pm every day, will commence from the Doordarshan Kendra of Vijayawada to cater to the residual state of Andhra Pradesh. Efforts to upgrade the existing facilities of Doordarshan Kendra at Vijayawada, which presently has one 150 sq m studio and a teleport satellite up linking facility, are already underway. ...
