Telangana Employees To Submit Their Objections To Kamalanathan Committee Today

Telangana Employee Unions and JACs are meeting today to discuss and finalize their concerns over the guidelines issued by Kamalanathan Committee. They will submitting their list of concerns and objections today evening to the committee.The deadline for any feedback and objections for the guidelines is tomorrow evening. The report is going to stress amending section 18(f) of the guidelines, which stipulates that wherever the number of Telangana employees is less than the number of allocated posts, such vacancies may be filled by Seemandhra employees. As of now, a majority of higher-level posts are filled with employees hailing from Andhra Pradesh, which means Telangana is obviously in minority, much below it’s fair share. 18(f) instead of rectifying the discrimination against Telangana, consolidates it. Kashyap Parupalli First Male Shuttler In 32 Years To Win Gold At CWG

Hyderabadi Parupalli Kashyap on Sunday etched his name firmly in the history books by becoming the first Indian male shuttler in 32 years to win a gold medal in the Commonwealth Games.  After a bronze-medal at the Delhi Games, Kashyap went all the way this time in a nerve-wracking and breath-taking 21-14, 11-21, 21-19 triumph against Derek Wong of Singapore in the final showdown which lasted for well over an hour.  After one hour of the game, Kashyap finally reached the finish line, winning the third game 21-19 and with it the match. Prez Pranab Addresses 12th Convocation Of NALSAR

President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday addressed the 12th annual convocation of NALSAR University of Law at Shamirpet on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta, Chief Justice of High Court of Judicature, Hyderabad, were present. In all, 649 degrees and diplomas were awarded besides 48 gold medals. Tungabhadra Rising And 33 Gates Up

The spate of flood water flow remains unabated to Tungabhadra dam and it opened up all 33 gates sending out 1.5 lakh cuses while inflow remained at 1 lakh cusecs. The maximum capacity of the dam is till 1633 feet while water is up to 1632.39 feet already. The released water is reaching RDS project. Similarly, flood-gates of Almatti and Narayanapur in Karnataka and Jurala in Telangana have been opened to release waters in the range of 1.5 lakh cusecs. Tungabhadra dam authorities have issued flood warnings in both Bellary and Kurnool districts that lie along the Tungabhadra. Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof. Kodandaram on Saturday called upon the people to observe August 9 as ‘anti-Polavaram Project Day’. August 9 is The International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. In India, it’s referred to as Adivasi day. Speaking to the media here today at the TNGO office where the TJAC meeting was held, Prof. Kodandaram said the meeting has unanimously decided to observe August 9 as ‘anti- Polavaram Project day’.
