Telangana Employees To Submit Their Objections To Kamalanathan Committee Today

Telangana Employee Unions and JACs are meeting today to discuss and finalize their concerns over the guidelines issued by Kamalanathan Committee. They will submitting their list of concerns and objections today evening to the committee. The deadline for any feedback and objections for the guidelines is tomorrow evening.

The report is going to stress amending section 18(f) of the guidelines, which stipulates that wherever the number of Telangana employees is less than the number of allocated posts, such vacancies may be filled by Seemandhra employees. As of now, a majority of higher-level posts are filled with employees hailing from Andhra Pradesh, which means Telangana is obviously in minority, much below it’s fair share. 18(f) instead of rectifying the discrimination against Telangana, consolidates it.

The Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers Association, led by their president G Deviprasad Rao, already met chief secretary Rajiv Sharma and CR Kamalanathan last week and explained them about their objections. They decided to submit their objections to Kamalanathan in a detailed form today. The TNGO president also expressed concern, on behalf of all employee unions, over the entire process of the allocation of the employees being entrusted to AP GAD.

The Telangana unions earlier expressed their strong opposition to the process the guidlelines suggested to determine nativity with continuos school education. Many Seemandhra employees have used fake certificates, from non-existent schools, and landed jobs in local quota, they alleged. However, it is not clear if they will stress on this in their objections today. More details are awaited.
