Telangana Reclaims Golconda; Millennial Fort Regains Glory

With the first-elected government of newly-formed Telangana State having decided on celebration of its first Independence Day from the historic Golconda Fort, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on August 15 will hoist the national flag from the Taramati mosque near Rani Mahal inside the fort with Bala-Hissar, the highest point of the fort, providing the backdrop. The State Government has forwarded it’s plans to ASI, which protects the heritage fort, for permission. “The celebration of Independence day and other state festivals has to take place at Golconda Fort. The main objective behind the celebrations of Independence day at Golconda Fort is revival of Telangana history and culture. US Based First Solar Making India Debut In Telangana, With 45 MW Plant

Biggest US Solar panel maker & developer ‘First Solar’ is making it’s India entry in Telangana with a 45MW PV plant. The facility, which will be the company’s 1stproject in the country, will supply electricity to Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana State Limited under a 20-year power purchase agreement. The PPA has been signed and project will be live next year. Telangana To Adapt Gujarat’s Water Grid Model To Solve It’s Fluorosis Crisis

The Telangana government announced a Telangana Water Grid project, on the lines of Gujarat Water Grid, at an estimated cost of Rs.25,000 crore to permanently solve the drinking water problem and the rampant fluorosis problems in the state.The grid, which will use 160 TMC ft (thousand million cubic feet) water, will be completed in four years, said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in Karimnagar Tuesday night. CM KCR said the grid would use 80 TMC ft each from Godavari and Krishna rivers. All ongoing drinking water projects will be integrated into the proposed project. The grid would be modeled on the lines of similar project undertaken in Gujarat, which is dubbed a larger than Indian Railways with it’s spread of 1,20,769 km. The state ...

AP Bullies CEA To Withdraw It’s Recommendations On PPAs

AP Government blocked a bid by the Neeraja Mathur Committee to give Telangana it’s due share in power, as per the AP Reorganisation Act. In the 2nd meeting held in Delhi yesterday, AP questioned the locus standi of the Committee to oversee the PPA dispute between both the states. This brings the issue back to square one. AP’s stance was always questionable as AP CM Chandrababu Naidu declared even earlier that the Committee is just an advisory body. The Committee held it’s 1st meeting on July 14th and both states presented their arguments.
