Telangana Talkies published 10 days ago that Centre started considering Telangana for an AIIMS like hospital along with other States. That development came after severe criticism from Telangana MPs who exposed the Centre’s bias against the newest state by excluding only Telangana and writing to all other states about setting up AIIMS in those states.
Now, in a latest development Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has written a letter to state Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and asked the state government to propose 3 or 4 locations of about 200 acres of land. A central team would select one of the sites proposed by the state.
The CM asked officials to prepare proposals to send to the Centre. While the state government will have to provide infrastructure like electricity, water and roads for the super-speciality hospital, the Centre will bear the expenses for its construction and yearly maintenance.
