Venkaiah Wants The AIIMS-like Institute Between Guntur & Vijayawada – Harsh Vardhan

The Centre is committed to set up an AIIMS-like institution in new Andhra Pradesh according to the assurances made in the state’s reorganisation act, Union Health Minister and Family Welfare Harsh Vardhan said. “As per our central government’s initiative, we would like the state government to provide us 200 acres of land, water and electricity… We are committed to establishing an AIIMS- like institution in this state also,” Vardhan told PTI here after the swearing-in ceremony of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu as the first chief minister of Andhra Pradesh post-bifurcation yesterday. Today, KCR returns to assembly, after a decade, as Chief Minister. The first session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly commences in Hyderabad on Monday at 11 AM as Chief Minister of the new state, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, extended a hand of friendship to his counterpart in the residuary Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu. Protem Speaker K. Good News For Telangana: Separate High Court Coming Soon!

The law ministry has written to the chief justice of the Andhra Pradesh high court for creation of separate high courts for the new states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The government has decided to create separate HCs for the two states after the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act came into force on June 2. The government has also increased the strength of the two proposed high courts to 61 judges. The current sanctioned strength of the AP high court is 49 with at least 15 vacancies. The government recently reviewed the matter after the creation of Telangana. The Supreme Court too has been apprised of the decision to have separate HCs. Centre Plans Petroleum Univ. In Telangana; Refinery In Andhra

The petroleum ministry seems to be playing a balancing act between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. According to officials, the ministry is looking at setting up a petroleum university in Telangana, to be headed by the chief minister. Last week, Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrasekhar Rao was sworn in as the first chief minister.
