Telangana State Makes A Colorful Debut At Travel & Tourism Fair At Hitex

A beautiful pavilion with Telangana’s maiden campaign ‘It’s all in it’ has been set up this weekend, in Hyderabad’s HITEX Exhibition Centre that is hosting the Travel & Tourism Fair, TTF. TTF is the oldest and the largest network of travel & tourism fairs that brings Indian and global travel industry under one roof in 10 cities, annually. With over 200 stalls from 11 countries and 19 Indian States & Union Territories, the 3-day travel trade show brought together state tourism boards, national tourist offices, hoteliers, airlines, tour operators and travel agents, online travel companies, railways and cruise lines under one roof. Centre Plans AIIMS Like Institute In Every State, Except In ‘Special’ Telangana!!

The centre thinks Telangana is the only state in India that doesn’t require an AIIMS like institution! While the Centre granted AIIMS-like institutes to the 4 States of Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, AIIMS-like institutions have already been established in the 6 states of Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Bihar, Chatisgarh and Uttarakhand.  The union health ministry  announced it has written to all remaining States, barring the sparsely populated north-eastern states, to identify lands for setting up AIIMS. The catch is that the centre has written to the 11 States Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Goa, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka and Punjab and not for Telangana. Telangana Stakes Claim For 550 MW Of Hinduja Power As Per AP Re-Org Bill

Suresh Chanda, Principal Secretary Energy to Telangana Government, has directed the southern and northern power distribution companies  to finalise and sign the power purchase agreements with Hinduja National Power Corporation Ltd, which is at the advanced stage of commissioning the 1,040-MW thermal power project near Visakhapatnam. The erstwhile Andhra Pradesh State had earlier entered into an agreement. Now, with the state division, power generated from the project will be shared in the ratio of 53.89 and 44.11 between the two states. AP Transco has been called upon to sign up with the two discoms in accordance to the sharing formula between the two states. Telangana & AP May Get More Power Cuts As Odisha Coal Mines Shut Down

 Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India, closed down mining operations at 3 mines in the Jagannath area in Angul district of Odisha following protests by villagers. At least 122 people in the Hensmul village in the area have refused to vacate, despite resettlement offers from the company. Closure of mining operations at Jagannath Area would mean snapping off fuel supplies to the power plants in Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. It will also hinder operations of the Bhubaneswari and Ananta open cast projects in Odisha. Quarters were given to 79 of the 122 villagers, and, the rest were assured of interim arrangements.
