Telangana Government has responded quickly to the complaint made by Olympic medalist Saina Nehwal that the cash reward the earlier Government of AP promised never materialized. Saina Nehwal tweeted “I am very hurt and sad that I have still not received the cash award from my state for the Olympic bronze medal that I won for my country”. Saina’s tweet came soon after Sonia Mirza was appointed the Telangana State’s brand ambassador. The badminton ace tweeted she is proud about Telangana and she is happy about Sania being made the brand ambassador and also bought attention to the fact of un-kept promises of earlier Government. AP Demands Centre Remove Telangana From Polavaram Project Authority

After successfully engineering the transfer of the 7 mandals from Telangana to AP, claiming it to make rehabilitation measures easier for the people displaced by the project, AP is now claiming that Telangana has no stake in Polavaram project as the project is geographically no more in Telangana’s territory. So AP is now demanding Centre to kick out Telangana from the Polavaram Project Authority (PPA), the special purpose vehicle created to implement the mammoth project, under the AP Reorganisation Act. 10000 Deaths Each Year, In The Country, Due To Unmanned Railway Crossings!

In 2011-12, Indian Railways recorded about 15,000 deaths. Experts say almost 70 percent of these took place at unmanned railway crossings. That is a staggering 10,000 lives and yet, incidents like the one today, in Medak, continue to happen. Today, dozens of schoolchildren died when their schoolbus was rammed into by a speeding train at an unmanned crossing. In India, there are about 13,530 such unmanned crossings. While the Indian Railways does not divulge the actual number of deaths at unmanned level crossings, a rough calculation can help us understand the gravity of the situation. Major Train Accident In Medak Kills Scores Of School Children

A school bus with around 45 kids aboard has been hit by a passenger train at unmanned level crossing near Masaipet today morning in the Medak District of Telangana state. 20 kids are reported to have died in the tragedy. After the school bus was hit by a passenger train, the bus was dragged by the train for almost 1 km before the train came to a halt. The dead bodies are spread through out the area and are unidentifiable. The bus belongs to Kakatiya techno school. The accident spot is near Manoharabad station.
