Shocking Audit Results Lead To CID Investigation Into Housing scam

The CID investigation ordered by Telangana government into the affairs of Indiramma housing for weaker sections has been triggered by massive irregularities that surfaced in the social auditing. The social audting has been a practice from 2009. However, no political will was shown earlier to set things right, Social auditing in almost 600 out of 11,200 villages in Telangana shows large scale loot of cement, steel, material and siphoning off of grants under benami names. Though on record it was shown that 36,000 houses were built, they don’t exist. The investigation has been ordered on activities during 2004-2014, a period that, as per records, saw 22.4 lakh new houses being constructed. CM KCR Deputes Energy Secretary To Chhattisgarh For MoU On Power Purchase

In continuation of the earlier discussion with Chhattisgarh, the Telangana state government has decided to finalize purchase of 1,000 MW of power from Chhattisgarh immediately, besides planning short-term and long-term power deals with the neighbouring state to overcome the power crisis in the new state. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who discussed power shortage and related issues with Transco and CMO officials on Friday, asked Transco managing director Rizvi to take immediate steps to obtain power from Chhattisgarh by entering into a memorandum of understanding with the Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company and into a PPA with the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCL) for lines. CR Kamalanathan Committee’s draft guidelines are issued. The draft guidelines are intended to allocate around 51,000 state-cadre employees between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. You can download the full copy of the committee’s release that includes guidelines as well the mechanism put in place to implement the guidelines. Kamalanathan Committee Employee Allocation Guidelines The committee has called for objections and suggestions from not only employees, but also from the respective State governments and public. Ten days are given for this. Later, the committee, if necessary, will take the objections and suggestions, and issue final guidelines. The Kamalanathan committee has released the guidelines for allocation of employees between 2 states of Telangana & AP. Telangana employees announced their reservations on the guidelines and said the committee hasn’t considered any of their representations over injustice being done to Telangana employees. Among the many issues they raised over the guidelines are the options being given to employees to choose the state they serve and when considering nativity as one criterion, limiting it to seven years of continuous education. Telangana emplyees also faulted placing Principal Secretary of AP Govt. as the nodal officer to monitor the distribution of employees. Gujarati Group Shreem To Invest Rs 67 Cr In Telangana

The Rs 2,200-crore Shreem group of companies based in Gujarat plans to invest Rs 67 Cr in setting up a farm nutrient unit and a pharmaceutical facility in the State. The Group has evinced interest in Telangana’s planned ‘Pharma City’, as per a report in The Hindu. The Gujarati group involved in real-estate, hospitality, pharmaceuticals and agri inputs, has entered into an agreement with a Polish firm to manufacture specialty nutrients for agriculture and plans to set up and bring into operation a plant near Hyderabad by December, with investment of Rs 42 Cr.
