Tourism: Rs 50 Cr For Warangal-Karimnagar Mega Circuit Development; Rs 25 Cr For Others

The Centre has granted Rs 75 Cr for tourism development in Telangana, as per the prioritization done during UPA Government’s rule in the meeting held on 10 Jan, 2014. The funds are from Ministry of Tourism’s yearly Central Financial Assistance (CFA) program which extends support to various State Governments in developing tourist destinations.

The Warangal – Karimnagar Mega Circuit project got Rs 50 Cr alloted. The circuit covers major tourist attractions like Badrakali temple, Warangal Fort, Ramappa temple & lake, Laknavaram lake and temples in Vemulavada, Dharmapuri, Kondagattu.The funds would be used to improve basic infrastructure in the tourism belt, like hotels, parks, toilets etc.

Other projects mentioned below each got Rs 5 Cr alloted -

  • Development of  Durgam Cheruvu Lake,
  • Development of Heritage Theme Park in Hyderabad,
  • Development of tourist places in Karimnagar District like Ramagiri, Illanthakunta,
  • Development of Tourist Facilitaties in Temples of Panagal and Udayasamudram in Panagal, Nalgonda
  • Development of Khammam Fort and surrounding areas in Khammam District.
