The Centre has granted Rs 75 Cr for tourism development in Telangana, as per the prioritization done during UPA Government’s rule in the meeting held on 10 Jan, 2014. The funds are from Ministry of Tourism’s yearly Central Financial Assistance (CFA) program which extends support to various State Governments in developing tourist destinations. The Warangal – Karimnagar Mega Circuit project got Rs 50 Cr alloted. From July 26, a weekend half-day tour package named ‘Nizam palaces tour’ will be introduced by Telangana Tourism. The tour would be on Saturdays and Sundays. A press release from the toursim dept. said tourists would depart the Tourism Plaza, Begumpet, at 1 p.m., from Hotel Taj Krishna at 1.20 p.m., and from Hotel Golconda at 1.45 p.m., to reach Chowmahalla Palace at 2.30 p.m. After an hour there, they would be taken to Falaknuma Palace between 4 and 5.30 p.m. for a tour and hi-tea.
