Even the faces of the tribal people of Mallapur light up whenever they display their solar home lighting. The lights were acquired thanks to a novel initiative by the NGO, Dhan Foundation, the National Bank for Rural and Agriculture Development, the Indo-German watershed development project and the Deccan Grameen Bank. Telangana CM KCR today spoke to his Chhattisgarh counterpart Raman Singh on power and development issues. Telangana is facing a power deficit and needs to purchase power for the short term as it plans to build plants and brings them to operation. The Chhattisgarh CM reportedly agreed to export power to Telangana and also invited KCR to visit Chhattisgarh. The 2 CMs reportedly discussed several development issues too.

KCR spoke to media today and informed that he invited the PM for inaugural function of Telangana state and that he is happy and thankful that Modi accepted the invitation. KCR sais the dates will be decided soon for the inaugural function marking the formation day of Telangana. KCR said he spoke to Modi on Telangana’s needs and the special category status it needs to stay on level playing field if AP is granted the same. KCR said Modi responded positively and said he understands the requirements Telangana has, from his own experience as Gujarat CM.

Telangana CM KCR payed a courtesy call to President Pranab on his maiden visit to Delhi as Chief Minister. KCR has been in touch with Pranab as part of his lobbying efforts over the years for statehood.
