The CII, in partnership with Telangana Govt, organized a conference on Manufacturing Excellence called ‘Man’Exe 2014, in Hyderabad yesterday. In his keynote address, Dr K Pradeep Chandra, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, Government of Telangana, sought Partnership between the Large Manufacturing Companies and Micro & Small Manufacturing Enterprises to bring out and innovative ecosystem in the manufacturing sector. “The Japanese system of “Just in Time Delivery” was successful by involving the vendors and service providers in the innovation value chain by the larger manufacturing companies. CM KCR on Saturday shot off a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi rejecting the Ministry of Home Affairs’ letter’s proposals to the State Government on Friday handing over state subjects of law & order to the Governor. The CM pointed out that bypassing the council of ministers by the Governor, as suggested by the letter, is neither sanctioned by the Constitution nor the AP Reorganisation Act. The CM doubted if the PM knew about the contents of the letter. The Union government is treating Telangana, India’s 29th State, as a special case, if it’s latest letter to the State is anything to go by. Somehow either the Centre thinks Telangana people are unfit to rule themselves or simply can’t get out of the deadly embrace of Andhra capitalists invested in Hyderabad. The Centre wrote to Telangana government to entrust ‘special responsibilities’ to the Governor in maintenance of law and order in Hyderabad, as if Hyderabad is in the throes of a civil war and badly needs a rescue from Centre. The Government made it clear all residents of a household should be at home on 19th August to be considered in the social audit being conducted by the Telangana State Government. The Government is trying to plug loopholes and irregularities in the State’s welfare programs to the tune of  nearly Rs 10,000 Cr each year. The Government addressed concerns of NRIs and students studying abroad that they need not worry about not being at home as the Govt will figure out alternate mechanism for considering the NRIs.
