Telangana Government has responded quickly to the complaint made by Olympic medalist Saina Nehwal that the cash reward the earlier Government of AP promised never materialized. Saina Nehwal tweeted “I am very hurt and sad that I have still not received the cash award from my state for the Olympic bronze medal that I won for my country”. Saina’s tweet came soon after Sonia Mirza was appointed the Telangana State’s brand ambassador. After successfully engineering the transfer of the 7 mandals from Telangana to AP, claiming it to make rehabilitation measures easier for the people displaced by the project, AP is now claiming that Telangana has no stake in Polavaram project as the project is geographically no more in Telangana’s territory. Major Train Accident In Medak Kills Scores Of School Children

A school bus with around 45 kids aboard has been hit by a passenger train at unmanned level crossing near Masaipet today morning in the Medak District of Telangana state. 20 kids are reported to have died in the tragedy. After the school bus was hit by a passenger train, the bus was dragged by the train for almost 1 km before the train came to a halt. The dead bodies are spread through out the area and are unidentifiable. The bus belongs to Kakatiya techno school. The accident spot is near Manoharabad station.
