KCR & Chandrababu To Meet On Sunday To Discuss Bifurcation Issues

Governor ESL Narasimhan is taking an initiative to facilitate a meeting between both the Chief Ministers of Telangana and AP on Sunday at Raj Bhavan. KCR and Naidu met at Raj Bhavan on Independence Day Eve on Friday and were seen having a casual discussion. In a follow-up to that meeting, the CMs would meet for the first time at Raj Bhavan on Sunday from 12 noon to 1 pm, specially to discuss the raging differences on several bifurcation issues. Narasimhan being the Governor of both states invited both the CMs to sit across the table and talk on the issues at Raj Bhavan, away from speculation and unnecessary attention.

During the ‘High Tea’ Party at Raj Bhavan on the occasion of 68thIndependence Day Celebrations, the Governor reportedly asked the CMs to discuss frankly with each other and try resolving the bifurcation issues for the sake of welfare and development of the two states. Subsequently, the two Chief Ministers are said to have had a brief discussion for some time, in private, and said to have shared their views. That discussion was reportedly tense with CM KCR questioning the continued interference of Naidu in every decision made by Telangana Government. He reportedly also questioned Naidu on his necessity of making controversy out of even simple things like reimbursing fees to AP Students. CM Naidu reportedly defended his interference in the interests of ‘Telugu people’.

Speakers Madhusudhana Chary and K Sivaprasada Rao and Chief Secretaries Dr Rajiv Sharma and IYR Krishna Rao will join the CMs in Sunday’s meeting.

Power PPAs, River-water Sharing, Employee allocation guidelines, Fees reimbursement issues,1956 Cut Off for FAST Scheme, common admissions in higher education, Transfer of seven tribal mandals from Khammam to AP, demolition of illegal structures in Hyderabad by GHMC, ambiguity in allocation of office chambers in Assembly premises and law and order are others that were flashpoints between two States in the last 2 months. These issues could be discussed between the CMs but it is unlikely to expect any breakthrough, on most of them, knowing the stands taken by both sides.
