Was Amitabh Born In Gujarat? Did He Play Garba To Be It’s Ambassador?

The BJP which has been mysteriously silent on all major issues Telangana has been facing ever since it became a state, has now woke up and raised its voice, only to shoot itself in the foot. In a hurry to corner the TRS Govt, the BJP got several things wrong. While it could have acted like a much needed constructive opposition in the new state, clearly it’s heart is in catering to the agenda of andhra leadership. Otherwise why would it try tying up a welfare scheme like FAST scholarship with State’s brand ambassadorship? The BJP asked why Sania, born in Maharashtra and married to Pakistani, is declared brand ambassador and not a local? Don’t these BJP leaders know that Modi appointed UP born Amitabh Bachchan to represent Gujarat? If Sania were to play Bathukamma to be made amabassador, did Amitabh play Garba dance in Gujarat to get nominated as ambassador? Why is Delhi born Shah Rukh Khan Bengal’s ambassador. Is he born there?

Similarly, they raked up the ‘discrimination’ between rewards to Sania and Poorna, our Mt Everest champ. As Telangana Talkies closely followed the Everest conquest, we shared with our readers the liberal rewards Telangana Govt announced to both Poorna and Prasad when they conquered Everest. 

The BJP said they have been given just 25 lakh each, which is untrue. Both were sanctioned 5 acre agricultural land each and promised full initial investment needed for setting up pumpsets and motors in that land. In addition, the Telangana Govt. promised funds to add 3 more rooms to their existing houses of the 2 champs. The Government promised support to their education. The total package is very liberal indeed and not to forget the fact that the whole Mt. Everest expedition itself is funded by SC/ST sub plan of the State Government, under the able guidance of IPS RS Praveen Kumar.

The BJP also questioned why Telangana Govt. would have a 1956 cut-off to give FAST scholarship but would give monetary reward to a ‘non-local’ Sania. The Government’s FAST scholarship, the replacement of erstwhile fee reimbursement, is a welfare scheme aimed to benefit the disadvantaged based on several factors apart from the 1956 cutoff, like the income of the student and even his/her performance in studies. Sonia’s case is one of promoting the state. Everyone now knows why BJP want to link a welfare scheme with a state promotion exercise.

The BJP’s criticism is purely aimed at showing that the TRS Government is showing undue favors to a muslim to bag muslim vote in forthcoming GHMC elections whereas it’s own agenda seems to be drive a communal divide ahead of that elections to consolidate Hindu right wing vote, which is divided due to Telangana sentiment & BJP Telangana wing’s uninspiring leadership. By continuous attack on the State Govt over issues like channels boycott, fee reimbursement while remaining mute on continuous violations of AP over power PPAs, Krishna waters, Employee issues etc BJP maybe planning to retain the settler vote but is distancing itself from Telangana’s interests. In fact bizarrely, BJP has been attacking Telangana Govt. on Polavaram and Hyderabad’s law & order issue and supported Centre’s atrocious moves on those issues.

With continuing bond with TDP, BJP maybe forced to take up these tactics instead of focusing on the mistakes of the TRS Government. But that would cost BJP dearly as it’s space maybe shrinking even further, in this historic moment of rebuilding Telangana.
