Medak LS By-Poll On Sept 13

The Election Commission on Saturday announced the schedule for bypolls to the Medak Lok Sabha. The Poll will be held on Sept 13. The Notification would be issued on 20th Aug and Nominations would be received from that day till 27 Aug. They can be withdrawn till 30 Aug. The results of the poll would be out on 16th Sept. Along with Medak, 3 other Lok Sabha Constituencies and 33 Assembly Constituencies in the country would go to polls on Sept 13th.

State’s Welfare Schemes Dominate CM’s I-Day Speech At Golconda

CM KCR spoke at length about State’s welfare schemes at the I-Day fete at Golconda. Listing out his manifesto promises which are being implemented, the CM stated that Rs 482 crore is  released towards input subsidy for farmers who suffered losses for five years due to drought and cyclonic rains. He also reminded that his Govt. has given Rs 6.50 crore  to provide immediate succor to weavers and waive off power loom arrears. KCR Criticizes Propoganda Against Survey

Chief Minister KCR criticized the opposition parties for raising a hue and cry on the Intensive Household Survey to be conducted on Aug 19. Addressing the gathering at Golconda fort after unfurling Tricolor for the first time, the Chief Minister criticized that some bad elements are coming in the way of the survey aimed to implement welfare schemes avoiding misuse of funds. HC Rejects To Stay Survey; TS Govt Assures Answering Survey Voluntary

The Telangana government on Thursday cleared the air that the survey on August 19th is voluntary and not mandatory. The survey is done for sprucing up welfare programs and plug leakages and fix irregularities, the Govt informed the court. Earlier, Justice Vilas Afzulpurkar of the Hyderabad High Court admitted the writ petitions field by Rajasekhar Tulasi and Seethalakshmi, called for records and posted the case for final disposal. R. Raghunandan Rao, senior counsel appearing for Seethalakshmi, contended that Parliament has already enacted the Collection of Statistics Act, 2008 and the Collection of Statistics Rules 2011.
