Serious efforts are being made by the Telangana Government to set up a steel plant in Khammam district and a team from the Steel Authority of India Limited visited Bayyaram, Paloncha and Kothagudem mandals on the it’s request recently.As per Govt. sources, SAIL team inspected iron ore availability in the district and the feasible place to set up the steel plant. With Bonalu being declared as the state festival of the newly formed Telangana, the State Tourism Development Corporation has launched Hyderabad Bonalu weekend package tours to Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahakali Temple and Darbar Maisamma Temple, Lal Darwaza. The tours operate on every Sunday. “We have taken this initiative to create awareness about the festival and also allow people to witness the biggest festival of Telangana,” said P Purander, an official of the  Tourism Development Corporation. “We plan to organising these tours every year for the convenience of people and tourists who visit Hyderabad for the first time,” he added.
