On Thursday, Govt of Chhattisgarh wrote to Telangana Govt agreeing to the latter’s proposal to buy 100 MW for the long term of 20 years. Right from Day 1, the Telangana Government has been pursuing it’s northern neighbor Chhattisgarh for a long-term power purchasing agreement. It is reported that 1000 MW of power will be provided by Chhattisgarh to Telangana at a very reasonable price as the PPA is for 20 years. However, it will take 2 years for the plan to materialize as new transmission lines have to laid between Wardha in Maharashtra and Dichpally in Telangana, about 270 km, to route this power from Chattisgarh. Swedish furniture retailer Ikea AB is expected to open its first outlet in India at Hyderabad and the Telangana government has promised to fast-track all necessary clearances as the new state seeks to attract investments. After a meeting with top Ikea executives, chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was quoted as saying all necessary clearances will be given through a single window to expedite the process of opening the store in the city. Government to set up India’s biggest Incubator in the city soon to encourage ideas among students. Stating that software exports from Hyderabad increased 15 per cent last year touching Rs. 56,000 crore and the city will remain the growth engine. The IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao, rued the lack of entrepreneurial culture among students in the State and said the government would encourage students with ideas by setting up India’s biggest Incubator in the city within six months.   NTPC chief Arup Roy Choudhury called on Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the duo discussed details of the plant, a press release by the Telangana government said on Tuesday. State-run NTPC is expected to commence work on the first unit of the proposed 4,000 mw (5×800) power plant at Ramagundam in Telangana immediately.  “The Chairman NTPC said that the work at the unit will commence immediately and first unit will be completed within 39 months.
