Now, Bonalu & Heritage Weekend Tour Packages From Telangana Tourism Corp.

With Bonalu being declared as the state festival of the newly formed Telangana, the State Tourism Development Corporation has launched Hyderabad Bonalu weekend package tours to Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahakali Temple and Darbar Maisamma Temple, Lal Darwaza. The tours operate on every Sunday.

“We have taken this initiative to create awareness about the festival and also allow people to witness the biggest festival of Telangana,” said P Purander, an official of the  Tourism Development Corporation.

“We plan to organising these tours every year for the convenience of people and tourists who visit Hyderabad for the first time,” he added. The buses will be starting at 10 am from Yatrinivas, with Tourism Plaza and Tank Bund as pick-up points.

The cost of the tour is `550 for adults and `450 for children. It includes transportation, entry tickets and meals, and there will be a guide.

Passengers will get complimentary laree and sachets of turmeric and vermilion (Pasupu and kumkuma). However, the package does not include Darshan and special entry tickets.

Tour for Techies

In an attempt to provide a better experience to the residents of Hyderabad visiting the historical monuments like the Golkonda fort and Taramati Baradari, the Tourism Development Corporation has launched a Hyderabadi flavour weekend heritage tour. The tour includes sound and light show at Golkonda and Cultural Complex at Taramati Baradari and is mainly aimed at software professionals living in and around Gachibowli and Madhapur.

“We have initiated this tour to relieve the week-long stress of software professionals,” said Manohar, General Manager of Telangana Tourism Development. “Though we know that there are different ways for IT professionals to bust their stress, we want to do our bit for them,” he added.

The tour will be operated every Saturday and Sunday and starts from Tourism Plaza, Begumpet, with Pickup points at Durgam Cheruvu and Shilparamam.

The cost of the tour is Rs 750 per adult and Rs 600 per child and includes transportation, entry tickets, meals and a guide.  For details on both the tours, people can contact toll free phone number 1800 425 45454 or 23414334 (Paryatak Bhavan).
