Telangana Govt. To Set Up TASK To Make Engg. Students Readily Employable

Identifying the fact that most of the engineering graduates lack readily employable skills, the government of Telangana has decided to set up Telangana Academy of Skill and Knowledge (Task) to impart skills during their course period itself, with the help of IT companies. Under TASK, the IT companies would be requested to impart employable skills by selecting some students each as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR). The idea is to make the engineering graduates readily employable by the time they complete the four-year academic course. Incubation centres Minister for Information Technology K.T. Telangana Secures 1st Big Ticket Investment From TATAs

The country’s youngest state, Telangana, secured its maiden industrial investment on Monday from a Tata group company that will manufacture the fuselage and wings of Dornier 228 aircraft produced by Switzerland-based RUAG Aviation AG. Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL), the aerospace and defence subsidiary of the $96.79 billion Tata group, will set up a manufacturing facility at the aerospace and precision engineering special economic zone (SEZ) in Adibatla on Hyderabad’s outskirts that already houses three other aerostructure units of TASL. “I assure the Tata group and all other investors that Telangana state will offer the best business regulatory environment as well as a competitive incentive package for future investments in my state,” Telangana chief minister K. Telangana State today witnessed the ground-breaking ceremony of the 1st big project in the State in the aerospace sector. The 500 Cr project would come up near TATA Advanced Systems’ existing manufacturing unit in the SEZ in Adibatla village, Ibrahimpatnam. Chief Minister attended as the chief guest in the event held in HITEX in Hyderabad. This is his first official event as the CM in the industries sector. CCI Adilabad Unit Hopes For A Miracle

Workers and employees of the Adilabad unit of the Cement Corporation of India are now hoping that the Chief Minister will take the lead to get the unit reopened with his efforts at Centre. The unit was closed in 1998 but the employees say in view of the rich limestone deposits in the area, the unit would have good future if reopened and run well. The CCI unit was commissioned in January 1984 with a production capacity of 1,200 tonnes off cement per day at a cost of Rs.35 crore in an extent of 774 acres including the quarry. Metro Rail Gets 4 Out Of 7 Trains For Stage-1 Between Nagole & Mettuguda

3 more trains, each consisting of 3 coaches and an engine, have reached the Uppal depot. These three trains which arrived to Chennai port from South Korea a fortnight ago were carefully brought to Hyderabad on special multi-wheeled road trailers. The first Metro train was received in May and is undergoing various tests at Uppal Metro Rail Depot. So far 4 out of 7 trains required for Stage-I Metro operations between Nagole and Mettuguda (8 km) have been received. The remaining 3 trains will be received in the next few months.
