TS Govt Waives Off Farm Loans Upto 1 Lac

In a significant development,Telangana State cabinet decided to waive off farm loans up to 1 lakh, as per ruling TRS party election manifesto. The step came even as the RBI decided to limit it’s loan rescheduling plan for only a portion of the State. Chief Minister KCR signed off on the waiver in Monday’s cabinet meet but the official orders are yet to be made public. In all, 39,07,409 farmers are likely to get benefited from the government decision, which may cost the TS Govt. close to Rs 19,000 Cr. Crop loan, gold loan taken for agricultural needs and agricultural term loans up to Rs. 1 lakh per farmer would be written off as part of the waiver scheme. ERC Gives A Shock To Chandrababu For His Power Politics!

AP Government led by Chandrababu Naidu suffered yet another setback for stepping out of line with regard to the PPA cancellation episode. The Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) on Monday night issued orders rejecting APGENCO’s unilateral ‘cancellation’ of the power purchase agreements (PPAs) that are with the commission. Chandrababu Naiud’s administration played havoc with newborn State Telangana with the cancellation drama and made Telangana lose close to 1350 MW of power. ERC’s orders comes as a relief for Telangana but it is yet to be seen if CM Naidu honors the decision. The CM earlier dismissed even the CEA’s authority to resolve the PPA issues. Coca-Cola’s Biggest Greenfield Plant In Asia, With Rs 1000 Cr, In Telangana

As Telangana Talkies reported yesterday, a delegation of Coca Cola officials met CM KCR yesterday and have expressed interest to set up a Rs. 1,000-crore bottling plant in Telangana and has sought land for the proposed venture. Coca Cola is preferring a location close to Hyderabad. The proposal is made by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Coca-Cola Company’s largest bottling partner in India. A CMO release said Executive Vice President (Coca-Cola Company) and President, Bottling Investments Irial Finan and T.Krishna Kumar (Regional Head, India) of the Coca Cola Company along with their team met the Chief Minister at the Secretariat. As TS Protests, Rajnath Singh Calls For Meeting Over ‘Advisory’ On 18 Aug

Reacting to vociferous protests from TRS MPs in Lok Sabha over the latest letter sent by Centre to Telangana Govt,, the Home Minister Rajnath Singh said  that what the Centre has issued is an advisory and not an imposition on the State. He claimed that the Centre’s ‘advisory’ was in line with Section 8 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, which gives “special responsibility” to the Governor to protect life, liberty and property of those living in common capital of Hyderabad. The Minister said the section specifies that it will be the responsibility of Governor to protect residents of common capital of Hyderabad after due consultations with Council of Ministers of Telangana.
