Ravi Prakash, CEO of news channel TV9, was today arrested and released on bail in connection with a criminal case registered against the channel. The case was filed in June as reported by Telangana Talkies, on June 19. He had moved the High Court seeking anticipatory bail but was not granted. Based on the directions of Hyderabad High Court, Ravi Prakash was supposed to surrender before a local court. He instead today surrendered before the L B Nagar police. A lawyer  S Janaradhan Goud had filed a private complaint in the court, against TV9′s infamous Bullet news bulletin. Mr. Ravi Prakash furnished two sureties each of Rs. 20,000 and a personal bond of Rs. 25,000. He will have to appear before police every first Sunday of the month ...

The Telangana government has appointed retired Prof of ASCI Gautam Pingle to work on restructuring PSUs of composite AP. He will be continuing the work of the 3 member committee that was formed to prepare a draft demerger plan for all companies mentioned in the Schedule IX of the AP Reorganisation Act. The three-member committee to prepare  met twice and discussed several plans with CEOs/ joint MDs of eight companies and recommended engaging the services of Gautam Pingle, who has vast experiences in Public Administration. YSR Congress Party leader Vijaya Reddy, daughter of Late P Janardhan Reddy, is all set to join TRS on Aug 20. She has resigned the YSRCP and declared she will join the TRS on the 20th. She previously lost the assembly polls on YSRCP ticket, contesting from Khairatabad. The Election Commission on Saturday announced the schedule for bypolls to the Medak Lok Sabha. The Poll will be held on Sept 13. The Notification would be issued on 20th Aug and Nominations would be received from that day till 27 Aug. They can be withdrawn till 30 Aug. The results of the poll would be out on 16th Sept. Along with Medak, 3 other Lok Sabha Constituencies and 33 Assembly Constituencies in the country would go to polls on Sept 13th.
