Video: Kuldip Sahani Of Telangana MSOs Blasts Journos Supporting TV9 & ABN Channels

A meeting of senior journalists, which was called to criticize the MSOs’ action to block TV9 and ABN, backfired miserably when they tried doing so right in front of the MSOs they invited for the meeting. When senior journalists invited MSOs for discussion and told them on that their actions to block the 2 channels TV9 and ABN is ‘undemocratic’, the MSOs shot back with questions on their own ‘democratic’ practices in the past over the Telangana issue. Ex-President of Telangana MSOs Kuldip Kumar Sahani spoke with clearly and asked pointed out the several excesses the 2 channels did, not just in portraying the Telangana agitation but even in suppressing and harassing the MSOs who participated in the Telangana agitation. Sahani recounted the several incidents when the 2 channels used the police and political power where the MSOs were targeted and asked why the scribes crying now for democracy were silent then. The senior scribes in the meeting were completely bowled by the questions and the stunning speech and instead of answering and discussing the matter in ‘democratic’ spirit, rang the bell and stopped Sahani from speaking any further!

We are sharing above the 4 minutes speech which was enough to reveal the hypocrisy of the journos crying foul.

While the journos organizing the meeting felt that MSOs could not block the channels and said the decision whether or not to watch the channels should be left to the viewers, Sahani said that the MSOs themselves are at risk of not getting paid by viewers if the viewers are unhappy with blocking of 2 channels. However, the viewers are only happy they got rid of these anti-Telangana channels, he said. So why are you bothered, he asked the organizers.

The MSOs represented by Subash Reddy, Bhasker and Kuldeep Sahani explained the circumstances under which they had blocked the channels. Senior journalists like K. Ramachandra Murthy, K. Sreenivas Reddy, Devulapalli Amar, Mallepalli Lakshmaiah, K. Amarnath, Telakapalli Ravi, K. Lakshma Reddy and K. Nageshwar, MLC and Prof. Padmaja Shaw shared their views.
