TS Yet To Take A Stand While Kamalathan Committee Is Set To Finalise Norms On Aug 13

There is no official statement yet from Telangana government on the stand it would take on the strong objections raised by various employee JACs over the guidelines released by Kamalanathan Committee over employee allocation between AP & Telangana.

Meanwhile, the committee set time till August 5 to receive suggestions from various sections and it would meet on August 13 to consider the suggestions and finalise the guidelines. The committee would the submit the final report to the Department of Personnel and Training on August 14 for Centre’s clearance. Once the PM signs it, curtains would come down on issue.

With just 5 days left, Telangana employees are brainstorming and collating all objections and data to support them to give a report to the committee. However, the committee, which already received several detailed representations before issuing guidelines, is unlikely to consider the same again, unless the Telangana government steps in and takes a clear stand. The committee has representatives of both AP & Telangana and TS Chief Secretary Rajeev Sharma is on board while all these guidelines were issued. So the TS Govt. more or less accepted the guidelines issued and it needs to be seen if the employees objections would weigh on the state government’s mind now to step in and resolve the issues with the committee.
