Screen Shot 2014-05-19 at 11.49.43 PM

What seemed impossible a few years ago is now a reality. Telangana will have its own first assembly and a Chief Minister in a few days from now. While most seem to believe that the Telangana results are on expected lines, the spectacular performance of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) deserves greater analysis. A party with virtually no cadre in many districts, virtually nonexistent in the twin cities of Hyderabad was able to mobilize a large number of voters in the Telangana plank. It made inroads in areas which were hitherto completely out of reach. Vote Share: In a multi cornered contest that was on witness in Telangana, even a few percentage points difference in vote share would mean a ...

Telangana Vote Share Shows No ‘NaMo’ Wave

Telangana Vote Share

Examining the vote share in the just concluded general elections in Telangana, it is clear there was no NaMo wave in Telangana. Attached are the vote shares in Assembly and Lok Sabha elections across 119 Assembly and 17 MP constituencies. TRS scored more vote share in Parliamentary contests than in the assembly segments within the same MP constituencies. In many instances, such cross-voting resulted even in victories to TRS in MP seats. Chevella Parliamentary seat is an example where TRS won just 2 out of 7 assembly segments for MLA contests but won the Mp seat due to cross-voting by a comfortable margin of above 70,000 votes. ‘Secular’ Newspaper ‘The Hindu’ bans Non-Veg for it’s employees!

Non-Veg

For long, The Hindu has been giving lengthy speeches on secularism and liberalism in this country. The Hindu was already in news for the family feud that has been central to it’s management troubles over the years but this step would take the icing on the take. Social media reacted furiously to the news. Some suggested The Hindu should rename itself The Brahmin!

If Sonia can remote-control Telangana from Delhi, why can’t I, from neighboring Andhra!? – Jagan

ys-jagan

YSRCP Chief Jaganmohan Reddy is confident his party would sweep Andhra Pradesh in this election but would restrict it’s focus on Telangana to a few districts, according to an interview he gave today to a newspaper. When asked if he can continue being a big force in Telangana in view of the anti-Telangana stand he took on statehood issue, he is quoted as saying “If Sonia can control States remotely from Delhi, what makes anyone think that being the Chief Minister sitting in the next State will leave it?”. Looks like Jagan is confident he can put up puppets in YSRCP Telangana wing just like Naidu did with T TDP and play the remote-control game! Maybe if TDP wins a ...
