ToI bias on TRS demand for share in oil & gas revenue from KG-D6 Basin

ToI reports -

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has demanded a share of the revenue from oil and gas resources in KG Basin, potentially complicating the process of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. The claim by the party, which spearheaded the agitation for creation of Telangana, has also infuriated the already sulking politicians in Seemandhra.

TRS’ move just ahead of a crucial meeting of a ministerial panel on Thursday is being perceived by many as an outlandish demand whose aim is to foul up the process of dividing Andhra Pradesh. Politicians from Seemandhra argued that the proposed Telangana state has no coastline and, therefore, there is no basis at all for any claim on energy resources in KG Basin.

It is interesting that ToI thinks Telangana’s demand for national resources like Oil & Gas as ‘outlandish’ but won’t apply that same logic to Seemandhras claim over Hyderabad deep in the heart of Telangana! It is sad that so-called national media wont rise above their bias and be objective on such critical issue.
